YouTube is one of the biggest websites in the world, and if you aren’t posting video there to drive traffic to you websites, then you are missing out on a lot of potential visitors. The problem is that with so many people posting videos around the clock, getting yours see can be tricky.
However optimizing your videos for YouTube is not as hard as you might think, and if you follow the tips that I have covered in this video you will soon start seeing positive results.
One of the first things that you need to do is make sure that your titles, tags and descriptions are properly optimised. This is the easiest thing to do but it is where so many people go wrong.
Also, if you aren’t using custom thumbnails the you will almost certain;y be losing out on a lot of views. People are far more likely to click on an eye-catching image rather than an automatically generated one that YouTube have created for you.
Also, one of the most important ranking factors that YouTube use is the amount of time that people spend watching your videos. So it is important to make them as engaging as possible to make sure that people don’t just click away after a couple of seconds.
For more competitive niches where there are a larger number of related videos, you may need to give your content some social shares such as Facebook likes and shares on Twitter, as this is another signal that they take into account. Also, as with SEO for websites, the number of backlinks that point to your videos is an important factor. Although make sure that you don’t blast hundreds of low quality links to to them, or you will risk getting your channel suspended.
